Russell Westbrook’s one and a half year tenure with the Lakers ended in February when he was traded to the Jazz.

Soon thereafter the point guard agreed to a buyout with Utah and signed with the Clippers where he assumed the role of a starting point guard.

When speaking to the media after season-ending Game 5 loss against the Suns, Westbrook revealed that the trade immediately made him feel better mentally.

“Once I got traded. Immediately, to be honest. From that moment, mentally, I was in a better place,” the former league MVP said, via ClutchPoints.

The 34-year-old point guard will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. His teammate Paul George has already expressed desire for Westbrook to stay with the Clippers.
