Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler has entered the NBA’s concussion protocols, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN. He is likely to be shut down and miss the remainder of the season with just four games left on their schedule.

Kessler sustained the said injury when he was accidentally elbowed by teammate Talen Horton-Tucker during the third frame of their weekend loss against the Brooklyn Nets.

Shipped by the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the Rudy Gobert package in the offseason, the young big man in Kessler has been a huge revelation for the Jazz, averaging 9.2 points and 8.4 boards in 74 games. He is leading the league in field goal shooting (72%) while ranked fourth in blocks per game (2.3).

Given his blossoming game and impact for Utah, Kessler, the No. 22 overall pick of the 2022 draft, is widely viewed as a lock for the All-Rookie First-Team selection.
