The trend of NBA players setting new career-highs continues. This time Lauri Markkanen dropped 49 points to lead the Jazz past the Rockets (131-114).
The 25-year-old Finnish power forward credited his teammates for his career performance, saying that they trusted him and gave him the ball.
“Again, my teammates, that’s all it is,” he said. “Coaching staff doing great job putting me in the situation to succeed. And my teammates are delivering me the ball and having the trust in me. So it feels good. Just like I have confidence in those guys, they believe in me.”
This season Markkanen is averaging 23.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 34.1 minutes per game.
