Since entering the league in 2017, Royce O’Neale has been playing for the Jazz. Only this summer after five years in Utah he was traded to the Nets for a 2023 first round pick.

The trade came as part of a rebuild process by the Jazz as they traded their two stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell along with the likes of O’Neale and Bojan Bogdanovic.

“I was definitely shocked,” the 29-year-old power forward said, via HoopsHype. “I had been there for five years. The team we had for a couple of years fell short. I thought we were going to build on it. Things happened, so keep it moving.”

Last season O’Neale averaged 7.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 31.2 minutes per game for the Jazz.
