ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reckons Kevin Durant is likely to sit out training camp as a means of forcing the Brooklyn Nets to trade him.

The two-time NBA Finals MVP requested a trade in late June, but there has been little traction on that front. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Durant met with team owner Joe Tsai last week and demanded that head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks be fired if he is to stay.

Tsai later took to Twitter to show support for his staff.

Windhorst has indicated that Durant’s next step might be to stay away from training camp.

“A week ago, if you had asked me, ‘Will Kevin Durant hold out of training camp if he’s not traded?’ I would have been like, ‘Ehh, I can’t see it.’ Now I can see it,” he said on the Hoop Collective podcast (H/T Bleacher Report). “That is what we’re headed toward.”

It’s now being reported that Durant has added the Philadelphia 76ers to his list of preferred destinations.
