The Ben Simmons saga ended yesterday as the Philadelphia 76ers point guard was sent to the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster trade.

He has not played a single game this season after refusing suit up for the Sixers last summer in response to head coach Doc Rivers’ comments about him.

According to Simmons’ new teammate and fellow Australian Patty Mills, he feels much better since the trade occurred.

“He’s in a really good place right now…,” Mills said, per Kristian Winfield. “You get a really hungry person who’s looking forward to playing basketball again.”

“I’ve got his back,” Mills expressed support to Simmons. “I’ve always had his back, and now I’ve got the opportunity to be with him. I’ve had his back from afar, and I wish I was with him earlier in his career.. So I’m excited to be with him in this aspect.”
