Mikal Bridges came to add another player the Phoenix Suns have to re-sign, after the incredible 2021 Finals run. Bridges is in his final year of his rookie deal, and he’s eligible for an extension.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Mikal Bridges and the Suns “have had talks” about a new deal, but the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement.

The NBA insider reported Phoenix is reluctant to offer Deandre Ayton a max extension. Bridges is another young player, who was instrumental in Phoenix’s run to the Finals.

He averaged 11.1 points on 48.4 percent shooting and 4.3 rebounds in 22 playoff games. Bridges was the second lottery pick for the Suns in the 2018 NBA Draft behind Deandre Ayton.

The 3&D wing will be available for a new contract next offseason, as he will be a restricted free agent. Bridges will earn $5.6 million in the 2021-22 season.
