Day Three Of 2021 NBA Preseason: Under-The-Radar Players Who Stood Out

The third day of 2021 NBA Preseason saw teams like the new look Chicago Bulls take the court.

Many players made a difference off the bench last night for their clubs.

Indiana Pacers

Chris Duarte: The #13 pick out of Oregon had a very impressive Summer League. Made under control plays on both ends last night. 15 points, 5 assists

Justin Holiday: Shooter with a 7 foot wingspan. Started in 52 games last season. 13 points, 3-3 3-PT

TJ McConnell: McConnell went for a career season in 2020-2021. One of the best bench point guards in the NBA. 10 points, 2-3 3-PT

Oshae Brissett: Brings versatility and energy in his play. Can guard multiple positions on defense and score in different ways on offense . 8 points, 2 rebounds

Isaiah Jackson: #22 pick out of Kentucky who can make a difference in short minutes. Can finish at the rim and block shots with ease. 4 points, 4 rebounds

Keifer Sykes: Sykes definitely deserves a roster spot in the NBA if given the chance this season. The 27-year-old has had a productive career playing overseas. 5 points, 2 assists

Terry Taylor: Undrafted rookie who can put up points and rebounds in a hurry. Double-double machine in college. 4 points, 2-3 FG

New York Knicks

Taj Gibson: Veteran big man with a winning mentality. Brought great energy on Tuesday. 14 points, 6 rebounds

Immanuel Quickley: The second year guard continues to improve. Also grabbed 6 rebounds vs. Indiana. 10 points, 7 assists

Obi Toppin: Looks ready for more minutes this season. Makes an impact on both ends by keeping the game simple. 10 points, 5 rebounds

Alec Burks: Veteran guard who brings consistency. Scoring, passing, and pick & roll play helped New York a lot in 2020-2021. 8 points, 2-3 3-PT

Jericho Sims: Rookie big man out of Texas with a ton of energy. Very impressive athleticism. 8 points, 6 rebounds

Kevin Knox: Knox is hoping to find meaningful minutes in his fourth year. Just turned 22-years-old back in August. 4 points, 2-4 FG

Washington Wizards

Daniel Gafford: Gets better every year with more minutes. Went perfect from the field last night. 10 points, 6 rebounds

Aaron Holiday: Underrated guard skills. Ball handler that can make plays with quickness. 17 points, 4 assists

Corey Kispert: The #15 pick out of Gonzaga started on Tuesday for Washington. Moves very well without the ball for deep jumpers. 12 points, 5-9 FG

Jordan Goodwin: Versatile undrafted rookie out of Saint Louis. Went on a nice scoring run vs. Houston in the second half. 9 points, 4-7 FG

Anthony Gill: Soon to be 29-year-old who plays the right way. Played overseas since 2016 before signing with Washington last year. 5 points, 3 rebounds

Houston Rockets

Josh Christopher: Rookie out of Arizona State with an exciting skillset. Potential is there for sure. 11 points, 3-3 3-PT

Daniel Theis: Brings veteran leadership to Houston. Big man who works hard on the glass. 12 points, 5 rebounds

Eric Gordon: Gordon has missed a bunch of time over the last two seasons. One of the NBA’s best bench scorers when healthy. 6 points, 2-3 3-PT

KJ Martin: Athletic second year player who brings great energy. Continues to improve on both ends. 8 points, 2 steals

Alperen Sengun: The #16 pick from Turkey has a solid basketball IQ. Skillset is polished for a 19-year-old. 5 points, 8 rebounds

David Nwaba: Veteran who plays hard every possession. Runs the floor, takes the right shots, and defends. 8 points, 2-3 FG

Usman Garuba: The #23 pick from Spain is already a high level defender. Hoping to develop his offense in the NBA. 5 points, 2-2 FG

Cleveland Cavaliers

Evan Mobley: #3 pick out of USC with potential to be a productive big man. Also blocked 2 shots on Tuesday. 10 points, 8 rebounds

Kevin Love: Veteran who brings shooting, rebounding, and screening. Hoping for health after only playing in 25 games last season. 6 points, 2-2 3-PT

Lamar Stevens: Underrated second year player. Strong forward that brings a high level of competitiveness. 7 points, 7 rebounds

Denzel Valentine: Valentine is now a Cleveland Cavalier after spending 4 seasons in Chicago. Played hard in short minutes last night. 4 points, 3 rebounds

Chicago Bulls

Alex Caruso: Caruso’s play vs. Cleveland was quite electric. Looks like he’s in his prime as a player. 10 points, 10 assists

Javonte Green: Running the floor and athleticism continue to stand out. Also blocked 4 shots on Tuesday. 13 points, 8 rebounds

Troy Brown Jr: Underrated youngster who brings versatility off the bench. Basketball IQ is solid. 13 points, 5-10 FG

Alize Johnson: Johnson’s energy around the rim has always been there. Brings quality minutes. 8 points, 11 rebounds

Matt Thomas: Shooter with underrated playmaking skills. Hoping to make the Bulls roster this season. 11 points, 2 assists

Ayo Dosunmu: Rookie out of Illinois that has a nice feel for the game. Can make an impact with his scoring, playmaking, and defense. 8 points, 2 steals

Stanley Johnson: Veteran that gives max effort on both ends. Jump shot has improved. 6 points, 2-4 3-PT

Milwaukee Bucks

Jordan Nwora: Nwora scored the ball at a high level for Nigeria during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Offense can help Milwaukee when called on. 16 points, 3 steals

Grayson Allen: Allen’s shooting can make a difference for the Bucks. Should fit Milwaukee’s system perfectly. 13 points, 3-6 3-PT

Sandro Mamukelashvili: 6’11” rookie out of Seton Hall with guard skills. Makes plays with the ball in his hands quite effectively. 9 points, 7 rebounds

Justin Robinson: Robinson has been fighting for a secure home in the NBA since going undrafted two years ago. Passing guard that can shoot from deep. 9 points, 3-4 3-PT

Memphis Grizzlies

De’Anthony Melton: Improves his guard skills every season. Also had 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals last night. 14 points, 4-6 3-PT

Desmond Bane: Bane scored and distributed the ball at a high level at Summer League. Played great during his rookie year. 10 points, 2-4 3-PT

Tyus Jones: Point guard that pushes the ball off the bench. Productive player on both ends. 5 points, 3 assists

Ziaire Williams: The #10 pick out of Stanford can definitely handle the ball and shoot it. Exciting potential. 4 points, 2-4 FG
