Warriors reportedly targeting Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs in upcoming draft

Golden State Warriors seek ways to improve their squad ahead of the 2021/22 season. According to Chad Ford’s NBA Big Board, Golden State could look to move up a few places in the Draft and snug Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs.

Along with Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham, USC’s Evan Mobley and G League Ignite guard Jalen Green, Suggs is widely considered a player to come off the board within the top five picks on Thursday night.

“The Warriors have also explored whether the combination of 7 and 14 could get them up a few spots in the draft. Their target? Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs, who the Warriors believe could come in and help them now as well as give them big long-term upside down the road. They’d also consider a deal for Scottie Barnes, who has some Draymond Green-esque qualities, if Suggs were off the board,” Ford wrote.

During his freshman season at Gonzaga, Suggs averaged 14.4 points on 50.3% shooting from the floor with 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.9 steals per contest.

The Warriors are hopeful that Suggs could improve their team immediately and help them in the quest to return to title contention, after missing the playoffs for two years in a row.
