Trae Young posts subtle message on his Team USA snub

Trae Young emerged as one of the best point guards in the NBA this season as he helped the Atlanta Hawks go all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals against all odds. He was named a finalist for the 2021 Team USA that will take part in Tokyo Olympic Games, but did not make it to the final roster.

Recently, the 22-year-old star tweeted a message which relays how he feels about not being selected for the USA national team. Young posted a clip from the documentary ‘The Last Dance’ about the Chicago Bulls dynasty in which Isiah Thomas is talking about being snubbed by the Dream Team supposedly due to animosity between him and Michael Jordan.

“I don’t know what went into that process, I met the criteria to be selected but I wasn’t,” Thomas is saying in the clip. Young added for himself a disappointed emoticon and the US flag, hinting that he feels the same way as the Detroit Pistons legend.

The last time Young represented his home country was back in 2016 when he was part of U-18 national team that won FIBA Americas gold.
