Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic hinted that he expects to sign a five-year max extension with the team this offseason.
“I think you know the answer,” he said with a smile when asked about the extension.
The five-year supermax deal could reach over $200 million, as Doncic would become the first player to sign a $200M+ rookie max extension, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
The breakdown of what the extension would look like based on a $115M salary cap in 2022-23:

Doncic will officially qualify for the supermax once he gets named to an All-NBA team this season, since he also made last year’s All-NBA team.
The 22-year-old won’t have much free time this summer, as he plans to represent Slovenia at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament later this month in Kaunas, Lithuania.
“That’s my next goal: qualify Slovenia to the Olympics,” said Doncic. “Going to be heading back to Slovenia to start practicing, so no vacation.”
Doncic was named to Slovenia’s 24-man preliminary roster in May.
He will have the opportunity to play in his first Olympic Games if he can help lead Slovenia to qualify.
