Draymond Green talked for a double standard in the way the league and the press treat teams that put their players on the trading block and sidelined them until their situation resolved.

Dwyane Wade reacted to Green’s comments, with the Warriors’ veteran citing the different approach the media and the NBA have on players demanding a trade.

The Miami Heat legend agreed with Green during his appearance on NBA on TNT, claiming that there is indeed a double-standard in those situations.

“I definitely agree that it’s a double standard when it comes to ownership or organizations and players,” Wade said. “I know a lot of people out there are [like], ‘Oh you guys are getting paid a lot of money, it doesn’t matter.’ But it does, because a lot of players in our league have families.”

“Some players are told sometimes, ‘Hey, you’re not getting traded.’ Then they get traded. Some players have to find out by the media. I’ve heard stories of players finding out been at a gas station, somebody walked up to them and said, ‘Hey man, you just got traded to such and such.’”

Two days ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers have officially made known that Andre Drummond is on the trade block. The former Pistons’ big will follow the team around without playing until he gets traded.

At the same time, the Detroit Pistons did the same to another veteran star making Blake Griffin available for trade or a buyout option.
