The Los Angeles Clippers were part of one of the biggest upsets of the 2020 NBA playoffs. The problem for them was that they were on the receiving end of it. The Clippers were projected to meet the Lakers in the Finals, but went out in the second round after blowing a 3-1 lead against the Nuggets.

LeBron James was one of many people who expected Kawhi Leonard and company to finish the job. The four-time NBA champion admitted on the Road Trippin’ podcast that he could not believe the Clippers blew such an opportunity in the playoffs.

“I was like this (puts his palm over his forehead). I couldn’t believe it. To this day I still can’t believe it,” LeBron told Allie Clifton, Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye. “Obviously, the better team won. That’s what happened.

“All the s*ht talking that they were doing all year exclude Paul [George] and exclude Kawhi [Leonard]. Even exclude like Trez [Harrell]. I mean obviously we know did sh*t talking. Trez might have said a little bit because he was a part of that crew.

“And they put themselves in a position to get what they’ve been talking about on all year. I couldn’t fathom the part or come to realization that they did not seek that opportunity when it was right there. Up 3-1. Seeing the team that they had that was built for that. I believe there was coach for that. I believe they got our championship head coach on their bench in Ty Lue.

“I just did not see them losing. Just like everybody else in the basketball sports world did not see them losing that series besides one of my favorite coaches Mike Malone and his group.”
