Luis Scola expressed his intention to retire after the 2021 Olympic Games, which will take place in Tokyo next July.

This will be a record fifth appearance for Scola in the Olympic Games as a member of Argentina.

“When will it end? In a year, after the Olympics. Only then I will decide what to do. I could stay involved in basketball, but not as a coach, eventually, only for young players.

I’m already receiving plenty of proposals, but none have been just as exciting as the idea of playing,” Scola said in an interview with the Italian magazine SportWeek, via Eurohoops.net.

Scola, who is considered one of the best players in the history of Argentina, is currently playing for Vareze of the Italian League.
