The Los Angeles Lakers are not expected to make major changes to their roster, after an incredible title run in the NBA ‘bubble’.

The NBA champions will look to upgrade their roster ahead of the 2020/21 season with Kyle Kuzma being a tradeable piece for the franchise.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kuzma is eligible for a contract extension next season, but the Lakers might explore ways to trade their third-year forward.

“Several interested clubs” apparently monitoring the situation to see if he hits the market, as the NBA insider revealed in his latest piece.

After Anthony Davis’ trade, Kuzma saw his numbers getting a dip, after averaging 18.7 points per game last season. In particular, the forward had 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 43.6% overall and 31.6% from beyond the arc.

His production was even worse in the playoffs as he posted 10.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game on 43.0% shooting from the field and 31.3% on 3-pointers.

Kuzma is entering the last year of his rookie contract and he will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2021.
