Anthony Davis won his first NBA championship after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
The 27-year-old forward admitted that he was emotional when he realized that he was a champion. He talked about his feelings postgame.
“Nothing was really going through my mind. I was just emotional…,” Davis said. “When came out the game I just started feeling it. About 25 seconds left that feeling just turned to reality. I was 25 seconds from becoming a champion.
“We got emotional. This entire journey that I’ve been on, my team’s been on, organization’s been on. It all just came full circle with this championship. I just got really emotional.
“He [LeBron] was bothering me, telling me ‘Aww, you soft, you cry baby’ I walked to the back and there was a banner trophy and just like kind of grabbed and then we walked back out to the court. But it was an unbelievable feeling and just emotional moment for me.”
