Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic is a big supporter of Luka Doncic. The two are keeping contact for several years and have met multiple times while Doncic was playing for Real Madrid.
In a recent interview Djokovic talked about watching the 21-year-old Slovenian playing in the NBA and hoped the Dallas Mavericks can recover against the Los Angeles Clippers.
“We are in direct contact for several years now, I root for him with all my heart. He knows himself very well and he is already a true leader, one of the best players in the world”, Djokovic said per Saša Ozmo of Sport Klub.
He also shared an advice to the young NBA star: “To keep in mind that his career is long, to be patient for certain things and to find the right balance. He’s already got everything – quality, physical fitness and mentality of a true champion.”
This season Doncic is averaging 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game. Dallas is currently trailing 2-3 in the first round agains the Clippers.
