USA NT 2008
I like the makeup of this US team. Very balanced with shooters and and guys who can defend the perimeter. One small concern would be the lack of depth on the front court; USA could potentially have a problem matching up down low with teams like Lithuania, Russia, and China.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking, but then again, our back court is also a bit bigger, and for the most part more skilled, so that might make up for it.

With the Guards and Forwards in there team i think they should be able to plain out run the European Teams.

In the half court, they have Boozer and Bosh who are very skilled down low to do there thing and can also finish off at the ring from passes by Cp3 etc.

It didn't happen in the past and it shouldn't happen this time. In NBA you lose your defender and your way is clear. In international basketball it's different as there will always be guys in your way.

The last Olympics i watched very little of but the team this year is a better all round team.

Centers: Tim Duncan, Emeka Okafor

Forwards: Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer, Richard Jefferson, Shawn Marion, Lamar Odom, Amare Stoudemire, LeBron James

Guards: Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Dwyane Wade

On that team they had no pass first PG's, but on this one they have Kidd, CP3 and Deron Williams...and the younger two can score the ball too. I think thats the best improvement the States have made as now they have people who can run an offense

Did you see the game later?

USA 114:82 Turkey (31:30, 23:7, 33:22, 24:23)

USA: LeBron James 20, Carmelo Anthony 17, Dwight Howard 14, Chris Bosh 13, Dwyane Wade 13, Chris Paul 12, Kobe Bryant 7, Deron Williams 6, Carlos Boozer 5, Michael Redd 4, Jason Kidd 3,

Turkey: Cenk Akyol 22, Kerem Gonlum 12, Ender Arslan 10, Ersan Ilyasova 10, Omer Onan 9, Oguz Savas 7, Semih Erden 5, Kerem Tunceri 4, Ersin Gorkem 2, Sinar Guler 1.

Turkey played without some of their stars (Mehmet Okur, Hedo Turkoglu, Kaya Peker etc.) but still they shouldn't have given up after the 1st quarter. American defense was quite good and got many easy baskets.

It will be interesting to see today's game vs. Lithuania.
