Rytas and Žalgiris EL rating

We have 3-year points system to determine which team gets 3-year contract with the Euroleague. Lithuania deserve two spots but there's nothing we can do about it. Bertomeu has spoken about that but didn't promise 2nd spot for Lithuania when EL expands. So let's look at what current system's results.

Žalgiris have 38 points and Rytas - 30 after the first year of the cycle. It was 31:23 after last season but both teams advanced to Top 16 which means +7pts. How are the points counted?

LKL Regular season winner - 8pts. Runner-up - 7pts. Champion - 15pts. Runner-up - 8pts.
LKF Cup Winner - 5pts. Runner-up - 3pts.

Euroleague

Top 16 - 7pts.
Quarter-Finals - 7 + 3 = 10pts.
Final Four 4th place - 10 + 3 = 13pts
Final Four 3rd place - 10 + 4 = 14pts
Final Four 2nd place - 10 + 8 = 18pts
Winner - 10 + 15 = 25pts.

Žalgiris leads 43:32 after LKF Cup final. Rytas must win LKL (or the Euroleague ) this year if they want to catch them.

I think they would have made it all the way to the Final Four if Petravicius and Nielsen weren't injured. It's really disappointing to miss such an historical chance.

I'm from Siauliai and I like both Zalgiris and Rytas , but I think Rytas is more deserved to be in euroleague...
