In Greece backwards is the forwards <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> Umpteen talent has already been lost in Greece due to the lack of 'connections'; it's how everything gets done back home. A sad reality, and there isn't anything to really break this spell which is what's worse...

Your first point is probably true, <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> but all spells can and will be broken. You might think I'm fooling myself, but sooner or later, in our case being later, that intolerable mentality will be smashed into smithereens!! Eventually circumstances change, and that's been proven throughout history in no uncertain terms. It all depends on US!!

Things like that changing right now sounds like wishful thinking. The problem is that we don't have patriots running the country (they take their orders from foreigners), and that's pretty much any political faction in the country. What's the US got to do with the nation's mentality?

We have many patriots, they just need to come out of their eggshells. With time mentality changes, political parties change and eventually people power will always prevail. History is the greatest example. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

These days, here in Greece, we(basketmaniacs mostly) think a lot of how unlucky we'll be not have Diamantidis and Spanoulis in the same court this summer. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
They are "smoking hot" lately(Diamantidis was awesome last year too!) but we'll not see them together in pre-Olympic tournament. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
A question mark should go to another "hot" Greek player, Sofo!!!
No one knows yet what will happen with this case. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
It would be so great to have 3D and V-Span on the same backcourt!!!!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Maybe if they played in the summer they wouldn't be so "hot" right now...
Respect and thanks for everything:
Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

We don't know that but anyway, my point is that unfortunately they won't be together in the NT this summer... <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thudown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Still even if they had the same form, it doesn't mean they would perform as good together as they do individually. At least Diamantidis anyway. And I'm not just saying that as a theory. It's a proven fact.
The last year Spanoulis and DD played in Panathinaikos, Diamantidis was just good. At the same year Teodosic was Euroleague MVP.
The next year Spanoulis moved to Olympiacos. Diamantidis became Euroleague MVP and Teodosic had his worst season. Luck?

No, it's not luck.
The thing is that it's definitely better to have both players in the NT.
We would have better results for sure.
By the way, I think that in 2010(where you refered to) a big factor for not playing well together, was Spanoulis' agreement with Olympiacos. That's for sure. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bag.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Good. Right decision. Should be even two months.

Greece's squad was announced today and it contains 14 players.
Antonis Fotsis
Ioannis Bourousis
Vasilis Spanoulis
Nikos Zisis
Kosta Papanikolaou
Nick Calathes
Kostas Kaimakoglou
Giorgos Printezis
Vangelis Mantzaris
Kostas Sloukas
Kostas Vaisleiadis
Ian Vougioukas
Mike Bramos
Dimitris Mayroeidis
***Sofo and Kostas Koufos have injury problems and they'll be available if the team qualifies for the Olympics.
Unfortunately though, I don't see Zouros making any changes if we do qualify given that it would be unfair for those who fought in the pre-Olympc tournament.
If you ask me though, he should add at least Sofo. That's not about them, that's about the team. We want the best for the team and the best for the team is Sofo in Mayroeidis' place.
In my opinion the 2 players who won't make it to the team are Sloukas and Bramos.
Also, in my opinion, the starting 5 will be like this:
PG~ Spanoulis
SG~ Zisis
SF~ Papanikolaou
PF~ Fotsis
C~ Bourousis
6th man: Calathes & Printezis
or
PG~ Calathes
SG~ Spanoulis
SF~ Papanikolaou
PF~ Fotsis
C~ Bourousis
6th man: Zisis & Printezis
Our strongets position is PF by far given that we have two of the best PF's in Europe at Fotsis and Printezis + Kaimakoglou. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The great Zeus! You have finally come from mt. Olympus to grace the forum. I don't know where it would be downloadable from. I don't download basketball games. I need to start. I stream games at firstrowsports.eu. I know it doesn't help but just passing info along.
