I can't wait to see Italy in action. I hope we'll beat them, but even if we don't at least it'll be interesting. We have a really tough group.

After 4 games with 4 to go here's how the groups look like.
Group A
1. Montenegro 3/1 7
2. Israel 3/1 7
3. Latvia 2/2 6
4. Italy 1/3 5
5. Finland 1/3 5
Group B
1. Great Britain 4/0 8
2. F.Y.R. of Macedonia 3/1 7
3. Bosnia and Herzegovina 1/3 5
4. Ukraine 1/3 5
5. Hungary 1/3 5
Group C
1. Georgia 3/1 7
2. Belgium 3/1 7
3. Poland 2/2 6
4. Bulgaria 2/2 6
5. Portugal 0/4 4
so what are your thoughts about the games so far? who will we see next year in Lithuania? who will fail?
for group A i think it's pretty obvious it will be either Israel or Montenegro, after the shamefull loss in Finland Israel came back and gave Montenegro their first loss ever. I think it will be decided in the last game in Montenegro, winner gets the first place
for group B i believe it's easy to see Britain is simply better than the rest of the teams, FYROM might take the first place with a good game at home against the brits but I think it will be Britain first, FYROM second.
group C is the most open group, Potugal is definatly out but all the other teams can still make it to one of the 2 first places, I believe it will be Poland and Georgia in the end.
share your thoughts

Great Britain is the clear cut surprise for me so far... 4/4 wins and being the only undefeated team...
I expected a good run from Montenegro... a team with such a talent needs only time to develop into a really challenging team...
Italy is the biggest disappointment so far... and not only this summer but in the past few years.
I like that Israel is challenging too... I like this team... I am happy to see Poland and Bosnia failing miserably...
Respect and thanks for everything:
Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Once again, the Israeli sickness of ups and downs, that's annoying.. I just hope Israel won't slip in Latvia.

Right now it's 65-35 for Israel in Latvia.
Now I got some question, how do they decide which are the 2 second places that go to EB? Is there anything complicated or simply better record and better point difference in case of same records?

The records are the first option, so it looks like FYROM have basically advanced. Then, if the two other teams have the same record, they calculate the point differential ratio: points scored divided by points conceded. It's a system that favors good defense, not good offense.

I don't think Italy got a chance to get the 2nd place tho.. I mean they need Israel to lose to Finland at Israel (and I think the chance for that to happen isn't very big.. at least I hope so cuz I still have bad memories from the last game in Finland <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> ) and also lose to Montenegro.
and they also need to beat Montenegro which will be very hard.

Can't believe GB lost, if they had won that would have really helped Israel with their chances of advancing <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> We're still looking good though.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's playing unexceptedly bad. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> About Montenegro and GB everything is clear.
Poland should quallify too, sometimes it seems that Gortat only one can win against their opponent <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

two new teams from last Eurobasket...
While Bulgaria, Poland and Latvia out...
Italy disappointment once again...
Little bummed about Georgia not making it <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> but extremely happy about Montenegro. In two summers from Div. C to Div. B to Div. A to Eurobasket! just WOW!
