I don't know if you'd be surprised or not..but Pini wasn't fired because Maccabi lost the championship..he was fire because of his attitude, talking to the tv crew while the game on still going, acting like a child...
the Maccabi management asked him to sign an ethics clause for next season(to make sure this things won't happen again)and he threw a fit(Ironic I know)and 24 hours later he was fired.

LMAO!!!!
I knew Pini was a bit funny, but not THAT much!!!! <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
Wow, uh, it's surprising how somebody could get by by being like that <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Quote:The pic is from Cyprus where the deal was signed.
Big Sofo:
"From the moment I chose not to continue my career in Greece I looked for a great and organised team where I would have significant playing time and would contribute. I found all these in Maccabi. I am thrilled to be moving to Tel Aviv and "Nokia Arena". I know about the great tradition of Maccabi, about their fans and the love of basketball in Israel and I will do everything in my hand for Maccabi".
Respect and thanks for everything:
Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Hahahahahahaha
Actually he's been consistently losing weight, so I think there's less of a chance with that happening.
Say, some years ago there was another Greek black guy playing for Maccabi, Nestoras Kommatos; what was his performance on the team like?

Yeah he's getting much lighter, but it's funny that his vertical seems to have suffered, he doesn't dunk with two hands anymore, just one. Time will show the fitter he gets.
It's a shame about Kommatos, he had such amazing talent, I saw him when he used to play for Aris, and my eyes popped out of my head! He did everything! He was also once called to the Hellas NT, but got cut. I had some hints that this was because of disciplinary issues. That's why I was asking you how his performance was for Maccabi.

Olympiakos is trying to land 2 perimeter players. Both should have good 3pt shot and should be solid defenders. After Beverley signed for Miami, Olympiakos goes after a combo guard, who should be a shooting guard natural, and a G/F that could play mainly as a small forward.
Rumours about Roger Mason Jr. *, Rudy Fernandez, Luther Head, Trajan Langdon, Jamon Lucas, Qyntel Woods.
*Signed for NYK for 1M Euro for 1 year. F.......!

I think he wants to check all of the NBA options, and Maccabi isn't going to wait.

Luther Head is awful. He's one of the worst NBA players I have ever seen. That would be a terrible signing.

Saras needs to get realistic. He can either get 700K from PAO or about 600K from Zalgiris.
