Lithuanian NT preparation games 2008
#1
One training game just ended in Palanga.

First NT played against Second NT and some of FNT players played in both teams.

Lietuva-€œ1 -€œ Lietuva-2 96:76 (21:19, 21:22, 30:18, 24:16)

Result is not important at all, but stats are interesting.

Lietuva-1 Ramūnas Šiškauskas 21 taškas, Kšyštofas Lavrinovicius 16 (7 atk. kam.), Rimantas Kaukėnas 15, Šarūnas Jasikevičius 11 (9 rez. perd.), Darius Songaila 10 (6 atk. kam.), Tomas Delininkaitis 3, Marius Prekevičius (nežaidė dėl nedidelės traumos).

Lietuva-€œ2 Steponas Babrauskas 12, Justas Sinica 8, Rolandas Alijevas 6 (5 rez. perd.), Mantas Kalnietis 4, Michailas Anisimovas 3 (7 atk. kam.), Martynas Pocius 0, Artūras Milaknis nežaidė.

Played for both teams Simas Jasaitis (5 ir 11 taškų), Robertas Javtokas (3 ir 8), Mindaugas Lukauskis (4 ir 10), Marijonas Petravicius (8 ir 8, 8 atk. kam.)

Well in some forums I would be eaten alive for the followong sentence: zalgiris players (including former) scored 4 points and Rytas players (including former) scored 124 points.

Rolandas Alijevas the only one pointguard who look good on paper.

Delninkaitis can go back to the cancer city, Kalnietis can go back to zalgiris and polish bench while foreigners are playing, Pocius scored 0 points.

We have preparation games topic in Olympic Games forum. It's dedicated to all the NT's. I see no problem in having a separate one for LTU as longs as it's active.

It appears that the key players are strating to get in shape which is a good sign. As I said in the other thread from the players available for a second PG position only Alijevas is worth consideration in my opinion.

On Friday it's the first international friendly against Belarus. I hope we won't see NT playing like they did against Sweden last year.

I have to say that I am slightly disappointed with the teams coming to Lithuania for a friendly game. It won't be a big problem if NT compensates it with a good game.

IMO it is not so importan who is enemy on friendly games, because NT is just experimenting new strategies, and enemy NT too. Lithuania always stuggles during friendly prep games, and they look completely different during normal games. Remember game against Senegal? Everybody even started to bash and bury NT after that game.. and later in tournament they were best NT. Or last years game in Siemens against Russia. Russia was crushed and if not 28 Khryapa's points, they would cry of a shame. But then they won Eurobasket...

Belarus.. they won against us in 1993 and closed doors to Eurobasket 2003, so after so many years we must have anger left.. Rrrrr Biggrin

True. I wonder who will be among 12 players registered for the game. Kleiza might not play as he has a minor injury.
