Paul George revealed some behind-the-scene stories in Indiana, before he made the decision to depart from the Pacers in 2017.
George explained that a top power-forward of the league that time wanted to play for the Pacers alongside him, but the franchise didn’t accept the All-Star request.
“They didn’t want to do it . . . I called my agent like, ‘Man, get me up outta here. They don’t want to win,'” George said on Player’s Tribune Knuckleheads podcast.
Paul George was eventually traded to Oklahoma City Thunder that summer in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.
