Washington Wizards star John Wall says he’s against the NBA resuming next month and would have felt the same way if he was healthy enough to play.

The point guard isn’t going to be fit for a return before next term, having missed every game this season due to an Achilles injury. And he’s told The Tuff Juice Podcast he’s not in favor of the league’s plans to return.

“For me, if I was playing, I wouldn’t want to go to it, to be honest,” he said, per quotes from Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. “I just don’t feel like it’s safe. I just don’t feel like it is. I understand why they want to do it and what they’re trying to get to, but I wouldn’t want to.”

Wall has echoed Kyrie Irving’s sentiments, with the Brooklyn Nets guard having urged players to sit out amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the social climate in the U.S.

“I don’t support going into Orlando,” Irving said on a call with over 80 other NBA players last Friday. “Something smells a little fishy.”

John Wall Doesn’t Want To Go To Orlando For 8 Games

The Wizards are within a shot of reaching the NBA playoffs under the current plan but Wall wouldn’t want to join them in Orlando even if he was able to play.

“If I was healthy enough to play, I wouldn’t want to go play,” he added. “What am I going, just to play eight games? I’m not going for just eight games and then coming back home.”
