It’s an end of an era in Bamberg as the Daily Gossip for Tuesday is headlined by the Beko Bundesliga.

Goldsberry calls it quits

Brose Baskets veteran John Goldsberry has announced his retirement from basketball at the age of 32.

The Bamberg side, who won the donestic title last season crashed out in the first round this season to Artland Dragons, prompting 32-year-old Goldsberry to make his decision. He averaged 3 points a game this season.

Ludwigsburg-Bayern to replay Playoff game

Game 4 of the Beko BBL Playoff game between Ludwigsburg and Bayern Munich will be replayed on Wednesday night after the referees made a monumental error.

Bayern originally won the match and the series 3-1, when with 1:29 left, Ludwigsburg’s Michael Stockton was fouled. He went to the line for two shots, made his first and as he was about to get the ball for his second shot, Bayern coach Svetislav Pesic and Heiko Schaffartzik complained to the official and stated that Shawn Huff was the one fouled, even though he was no where near the foul.

The referees then oddly cancelled Ludwigsburg’s shots and gave the ball to Bayern. The referees in question have corrected their mistake and the BBL have announced the rematch for Wednesday.

Wiggins: I should be number one pick in 2014 NBA Draft

Kansas forward Andrew Wiggins believes that he should be drafted as the number one pick when the NBA Draft is announced in June.

“I always put myself No. 1 above anybody else. That’s just me. I got a lot of confidence in myself,” Wiggins said Monday on ESPN’s “First Take.

“I think for me, Jabari or Joel, I think we all want to go No. 1,” said Wiggins, who averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in his only season at Kansas. “But it’s not the end of the world if we don’t because there’s been a lot of great players that ended up to be the best ever, and great Hall of Famers, that never went No. 1 and still had a great career.”

The NBA Draft lottery is tonight.
