Kleiza uncertain about playing in Spain

Linas Kleiza has not yet decided whether he’ll be playing in Spain at FIBA Basketball World Cup later this summer. Fenerbahce Ulker forward will listen to the doctors after he finishes the season in Turkey.

In an interview to lrytas.lt Kleiza told that he doctors suggest him to take a summer off rather than spend it with Lithuanian national team. At the age of 29 he will look to recover after a long season in order to be fully fit once the new season starts.

In January 2011, Kleiza suffered a serious meniscal tear in his right knee and was out for the remainder of the 2010–11 season. He returned to court on January, 2012. Kleiza helped Lithuania win silver medal in EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia and was selected to an All-Tournament Team.

‘For the past two years I was with the national team, it’s in my heart, therefore, it would be a tough decision not to play. But so far I have not made that decision’, said Kleiza.

Kleiza’s absence could mean a more important role for Donatas Motiejunas who’s coming off after rather disappointing season with the Houston Rockets and will try to redeem himself with the national team.
