Early entrant deadline has passed for 2020 NBA Draft

The deadline for early entrants into the 2020 NBA Draft was April 26 at 11:59 p.m., so players who are not automatically eligible can no longer enter.

Players who have entered the draft don’t have to remain in if they did not hire an agent.

The current deadline for NCAA players to withdraw their names from the draft and retain their college eligibility is June 3, but that date could be moved if the NBA draft is postponed.

International players who have entered the draft have until June 15 to withdraw their name, as they don’t have to worry about college eligibility.

The NBA should formally release the full list of early draft entrants soon, but currently, there are approximately 190-ish entrants, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, that number is down from previous years when the draft saw entrants in the 230s.

Now, the question will be how many of the early entrants choose to stay in the draft.

With likely no pre-draft process, many players won’t be that much more educated about their draft standing in the eyes of NBA scouts and teams by the June 3 deadline.
