The Canadian Olympic Committee announced that they won’t send their teams to the Olympic and Paralympic games in Tokyo. The coronavirus pandemic has put the world “on pause” with the Canadian Committee advising the Olympic Committee to postpone the games.

That means the basketball tournament and the competition in general may be rescheduled for next year. The 2020 Games are currently set to begin on July 24, while the Basketball Olympic Tournament is set to start on July 26.

Although, there is not a final decision, the scheduling is pressing as far as the basketball tournament goes, with the four men’s FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, which were about to take place from June 23-28, 2020 in Canada, Croatia, Lithuania and Serbia.
