Warriors’ Juan Toscano-Anderson had a message about the G League ahead of his first NBA start

Juan Toscano-Anderson of the Golden State Warriors made it to the NBA the hard way. After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft, he went to play in Mexico for a few seasons. In 2018 he joined the G League side Santa Cruz Warriors.

On February 6 of this year, Toscano-Anderson signed a deal with Golden State. He had his first NBA start against the Phoenix Suns. Before the game, he tweeted a message about his decision to go to the G League: “First NBA start tonight. I remember when ppl told me going to the G League was a mistake. Always bet on yourself.”

In 31 minutes of play against the Suns, Toscano-Anderson had 5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, helping the Warriors earn a rare win. His NBA career high 16 points was against the Pelicans.
