Chicago Bulls’ Zach LaVine is having a great career in the NBA. Few would argue that he is a star. But what was his dream when he was a child?
As it turns out, LaVine is living his childhood dream. Paul LaVine, Zach’s father revealed that when his son was in the fourth grade he told the teacher he wanted to be an NBA star.
The teacher then told him to write down a more realistic dream. Fortunately, LaVine didn’t drop his dream.
“A teacher in 4th grade asked what (Zach) wanted to be. He said he wanted to be an NBA star. The teacher told him to write down something more realistic… me and my wife went to school and said that was my son’s dream, so don’t mess it up.”

This season the 24-year-old point guard is averaging 25.3 points per game for the Bulls. He will take in the All-Star Weekend as Three-Point Contest participant.
