Unicaja targets Roko-Leni Ukic

Unicaja Malaga are interested in veteran Croatian guard Roko-Leni Ukic, media reports say.

In an effort to rebuild after a disastrous domestic season, which saw them finish ninth, missing the post-season play-offs. The Malaga side are looking to make sure that doesn’t happen again next season. They qualified for the Top 16 of the Euroleague, but ended up losing all six of their games.

Ukic spent last season at Turkish side Fenerbahce Ulker, where he averaged 11 points and under three rebounds a game in the Euroleague. The Croatian international’s stats were just about the same domestically though he tallied four assists a contest.

Before he moved to Turkey in 2010, just before he starred for Croatia at the world championships, the 6’4 guard played two seasons in the NBA, where he had spells with Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks but was vaived by the latter at his own request.

Ukic has won two TBL and two Turkish Cups in his time with Fenerbahce.
