Rivas Ecopolis, last years’ finalists of Euroleague women, strenghten their squad with two important additions and announced them from the official website: basketrivasecopolis.com.
Katalin Honti was an important member of MKB Euroleasing Sopron in her native Hungary and played in Euroleague Final Four somewhat surprisingly in the Euroleague Final Four back in 2009. Honti, did not find too many chances in Ros Casares Valencia last season where points guards like Sylvia Dominguez and Laia Palau dominated the court. Rivas lost Aguilar to Spartak Moscow so Honti will try to fill the gap.
An ex-team mate of Honti, Olexandra Kurasova will join her at Rivas. The Ukranian small forward played at Salamanca in 2009-2010 until January, then returned to her native Ukrania and got domestic title with Dnipro. Last season, she played for Sopron again and this time, they lost in Hungarian League finals. Her averages were 12.1 points and 5.5 rebounds domestically. Kurasova will try to fill the gap left by Ashja Jones and who signed for Kayseri KASKİ.
