Forward of Russian Nizhniy Novgorod Michal Ignerski got the title of VTB United League MVP champion according to January results.
Owner of the title «Most Valuable Player» of the month is determined by VTB United League and «Sport-Express» newspaper this season. The selection of MVP and symbolic top five of the month is performed by using specially developed formula where the statistics of players is included (specifically- rating of performance) as well as the opinion of the League’s experts.
As a result, Ignerski scored a total of 11 points leaving behind in the top three pretenders for the MVP of January guard of Russian Krasnye Krylia Lonniel Rush (5 points) and forward of Estonian Kalev Bamba Fall (4 points).
As for Ignerski statistics in 2012 his Nizhniy Novgorod played in three games of VTB United League championship and gained three victories – over Estonian Kalev, Latvian VEF and Lithuanian Zalgiris. Polish forward of Nizhniy Novgorod made 22.3 points, made 6.0 rebounds and eventually earned 23.7 points for effective actions. In the game with Zalgiris Ignerski had 27 points, scored four three-points out of four.
