Navarro leads all, Euroleague round-up (vids)

Juan Carlos Navarro became the all-time leading scorer in the Euroleague after his 14 points helped Barcelona to a 72-46 mauling of Union Olimpija.

Needing 12 points to beat the previous feat, it was half-way through the third quarter when Chuck Eidson stole the ball and fed the ball to Navarro for the easy lay-up to give Barca a 48-30 lead.

The Palau Blagrana erupted as they celebrated their hero passing Marcus Brown’s record to score his 2716th Euroleague points.

With the win, Barcelona also qualify to the top 16 with a 6-0 record.

Dimitris Diamantidis broke all Unicaja Malaga hearts as his buzzer-beating triple gave Panathinaikos a 77-76 win.

The Greek veteran hit 23 points including seven three-pointers, two of which came in the last 15 seconds as the Greens virtually sealed their spot in the top 16.

Luka Zoric led Unicaja with 21.

KK Zagreb secured their second straight win with a 86-74 win over Brose Baskets in the Croatian capital.

Josh Heytvelt led Zagreb with 25 points and 12 rebounds as they kept their slim chances of a top 16 place alive.

Heytvelt was one of three Zagreb players to secure double-doubles, as Krunoslav Simon hit 16 points and 12 boards and Mario Kasun came out with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Eurobasket gold medal winner Fernando San Emeterio had a career night as his 25 points and eight rebounds helped Caja Laboral to a 90-85 overtime win over Fenerbahce Ulker.

There was no seperating the two teams at the end of regulation, with the game finishing 73-73, but San Emeterio led Caja in the extra period to improve his side to 4-2 in the group while condemning Fenerbahce to 3-3.

Elsewhere, Pape Philippe Amagou hit 18 points as SLUC Nancy continued their unbeaten Euroleague run at home with a 76-75 success over Bennet Cantu.

Real Madrid improved its chances of reaching the top 16 with a 93-89 win over Belgacom Spirou, who drop to 1-5.

Martynas Pocius hit 20 points as Madrid move to 4-2.

There were also wins for Galatasaray, as they needed overtime to defeat Asseco Prokom 78-76, as the Polish side remain winless at 0-6. And there was a win for Maccabi Electra, as they beat Emporio Armani Milano 85-76 thanks to 28 points from the big man Sofoklis Schortsanitis.
