Timberwolves Could Really Use Rubio

There’s no question that the Minnesota Timberwovles are one of the worst teams in the NBA and at this point, they’ll take any help they can get as far as talent goes. But those who follow online betting at BetUs know that a certain point guard would really help them out: Ricky Rubio.

The Timberwolves – and their front office – have been mocked incessantly for their obsession with point guards. In the same 2009 NBA Draft, they drafted three in the first round taking Jonny Flynn, Ricky Rubio and Ty Lawson. Lawson, who has been the best NBA player of the three, was the one they drafted last and ended up trading away. The Timberwolves would end up signing Luke Ridnour as well and also acquiring Sebastian Telfair.

And even with their incessant hunt to fill the position, they have whiffed over and over again to the point where Rubio could want onto the team today and likely start. With any semblance of skill, he’d also be the best player among all of the options mentioned.

But the question that NBA fans have been wondering is whether Rubio will actually come from overseas to play.

Timberwolves General Manager David Kahn recently suggested that Rubio is on track to join the team next year (assuming a lockout doesn’t take place) but there are plenty of skeptics who think otherwise. Rumors have been flying that Rubio wants to play for the Knicks – or virtually anyone else – and that he’d already be playing in the NBA if a better team owned his rights.

The Timberwolves have a decent young corps as Kevin Love and Michael Beasley have the semblance of a very competent frontcourt. The Wolves desperate lack a point guard to help them out at running the offense and helping the other players on the team find their shots.

It’s still the wait-and-see game for the Wolves regarding Rubio but there’s no question that they could really use him.
