Leandro Barbosa last played in the NBA in the 2016-2017 season for the Phoenix Suns, but he recently revealed that once he retires from playing, the Golden State Warriors will have a spot reserved on their coaching staff for him.

On an appearance on ESPN Brasil, 36-year-old Barbosa says he already has a proposal from the Warriors for a technical assistant role.

Barbosa played for the Warriors for two seasons and won the 2015 NBA Finals after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He then re-signed for the 2015-2016 season and helped the team to a historic 73-win season, only to follow it up with another historic performance, blowing a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals to the Cavaliers.

After the NBA, Barbosa has played in his home country Brazil for two years, one season for Franca Basquetebol Clube and one for Minas Tenis Clube.

Barbosa also recently helped Brazil to a 13th place finish at the FIBA World Cup, good enough to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
