Slovenia today showed different face and easily won over Canada with 86-70 and advanced to quarter-final as first in Group C. Victory wasn’t question through the game as guard duo Lakovic-Becirovic combined for 34 points and Nesterovic and Slokar limited Canadian star Dalembert to only 4 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes.
Disappointment for Canada was Carl English too. He scored only 5 points on 1-3 shooting in 20 minutes. Only Barett and Thomas posted double digits points, first with 16 and second with 10.
Lakovic was on fire early in the first half and scored 16 of his 19 final points in first quarter. Later Becirovic and Nesterovic joined him. Nesterovic was again one of the best players on court and posted 14 points and 9 rebounds.
