The Supreme Court of Sports Disputes rejected Olympiacos’ appeals on Friday (28/06) and the “Reds” have been officially relegated to the second division.
The two appeals referred to the validation of the results in the final round of the Greek Basket League and the referees’ draw of the final round, respectively.
Consequently, Olympiacos will play in the second division next season. The “Reds” had forfeited Game 1 of the Greek Basket League playoffs against Panathinaikos.
The reason was the appointment of referees Anastopoulos and Manos to officiate the game. Therefore, Olympiacos did not play in the game and was relegated.
The “Reds” had stated they would forfeit any match against the “Greens” unless officiated by foreign referees.
