Gayle Back For The Jets

Steven GayleCheshire Jets are pleased to announce the return of Steven Gayle for the 2010 / 11 season.

The 5’10” guard was born in Manchester and made his BBL debut as far back as 1998 for the Manchester Giants. Steve joined the Jets from EBL1 champions Manchester Magic in 2008 and has rapidly become a valued member of the team and a firm favourite with the Northgate crowds.

Last season Steven averaged 7.72 points per game, with a 35+% success rate from three point range and a greater than 75% from the free throw line while dishing out assists at a rate of one every seven minutes – all in 20 minutes per game!

Jets Head Coach Paul Smith stated that he was delighted to welcome Steve back to the Jets for another season and said that he had a clear role to play. “We are looking to him to do the same in this campaign as he has done for the last two years – to provide that energy and intensity that can shake a game up. He also gives us some continuity from last season as this year’s roster contains a number of newcomers to the league.”

Steven will join up with the rest of the Jets squad at the beginning of September for the start of the pre-season. More details about further additions to the roster will be announced before then.
