The Los Angeles Clippers guard and the two-time winner of the NBA’s Sixth Man award, Lou Williams, has the highest chances to claim the trophy for the third time in 2019 and to tie Jamal Crawford’s record, who is the only three-time winner of this award. Despite the fact that Williams’s points per game average has a bit dropped, he still finished regular season averaging 20.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and a career-best 5.4 assists in just 26.6 minutes per game, while shooting at 42.5 percent from the floor.

This season, Lou Williams has already made history – he passed Dell Curry and become the NBA’s career leader for scoring the most points off the bench. “It means a lot, it’s a testament to my career. I’ve been a career bench player, two-time Sixth Man of the Year, and hopefully, I could get another one this year,” Williams said, per Rappler.

Last season, for the Los Angeles Clippers was chaotic and they missed playoffs for the first time since 2011, but this year things were different – the team claimed 48 games, got an 8th seed in the Western Conference and won two road wins against the two-time defending champ Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. It’s the first time Golden State have lost two games in the first round since 2014 and Lou Williams was one of the main reason why that happened.

To sum up, due to his personal stats and the Clippers’ postseason appearance, Williams is the 2019 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
