Lokomotiv Kuban overpowered Zenit St Petersburg; tied the series

In a late thriller in Krasnodar, Lokomotiv Kuban stepped up in the second half and beat Zenit St Petersburg (70-69) to even the series in the VTB League quarter-finals (1-1).

After a balanced first half (35-33), the hosts took control and earned an eight point lead (55-47, 64-56). The visitors fought back and cut the deficit to one (70-69), thanks to a 6-13 run, yet they ran out of time and Lokomotiv won the game.

Moustapha Fall had a team-high 12 points for the winners, while Mateusz Ponitka added 11. On the other hand, Jalen Reynolds led the losing squad with a game-high 15 points.

Game 3 will be played in St. Petersburg on Thursday (09/05).
