At the sold-out Pabellon Fuente de San Luis, the German visitors remained competitive until the first minutes of the third quarter (20-13, 41-38, 49-49).

Since then, though, the Spanish hosts took over. They went on a 14-0 run to take a 14-point lead (63-49) and never look back. After that, they extended their lead to 18 points (71-53) and sealed the deal.

Four players scored in double figures for the winners, with Will Thomas leading the way with a game-high 22 points.

Peyton Siva had a team-high 17 points for the losing squad, while Martin Hermannsson added 16.

Valencia now has the upper hand in the best-of-three series, with Game 2 taking place on Friday (12/04) in Berlin.
