With anticipation growing for Thursday’s EuroLeague game between Real Madrid and Panathinaikos, two players are likely to be absent ahead of the tie.

Real Madrid star Luka Doncic is rumoured to be out for Thursday, with Panathinaikos’ Nikos Pappas definitely out as he didn’t travel with the team to Madrid.

The 18-year-old Doncic suffered a thigh injury during team practice and it is reportedly likely that the Slovenian will be advised to rest for future games so that he doesn’t aggravate the injury more.

Doncic leads the EuroLeague in index rating with +23.1, and he is second in scoring with 17 points a game.

While Pappas suffered an ankle injury on Tuesday’s practice and it’s unclear when he will back on the court.

The Greek star has only started once for Panathinaikos this season, but is a big contributor, averaging 9.5 points a game, shooting 35.1 percent from three-point land.
