Retired Slovenian Βostjan Νachbar is looking to create a players association similar to that of the National Basketball Players Association, which forms a union for players in the NBA.
Nachbar is looking to build a union for EuroLeague and EuroCup players, specifically but is also aiming in most cases to focus on championships and Federations across Europe, even though there is a union called the UBE (European Players’ Association).
It has been reported that Nachbar has already met with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv players, per Moshe Barda and according to various reports around Greece, the Slovenian will have a meeting with the Olympiacos players.
The initial meetings are expected to be conducted between Nachbar and the players of the 16 EuroLeague teams, to engage interest, with further meets with EuroCup and domestic league players coming up.
