After a poor display in the FIBA Basketball Champions League against AS Monaco, Slovenian coach Jure Zdovc has left Greek side AEK Athens.
Greek coach Sotiris Manolopoulos, who was the first assistant of Zdovc and in the past has served also as the head coach of Panathinaikos, will finish the season as AEK aims for a fresh start.
Zdovc had signed a contract until 2018. However, the Athens outfit felt that results were not going the way that they wanted, especially in the Champions League, where they were considered one of the strongest teams in the third tier competition.
AEK were eliminated by French side AS Monaco in the round of 16 over two legs.
