The Brisbane Bullets have signed experienced Brazilian point guard Raul Neto as an injury replacement for Arnas Velicka, adding a player with extensive NBA, European, and international basketball experience, the team announced in a press release.
The 6-foot-2 guard joins the Australian club after spending much of his professional career competing at the highest levels of basketball, including eight seasons in the NBA.
Neto was selected with the 47th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and went on to play in the league between 2015 and 2023.
During that period, he appeared in 435 regular-season games and 14 playoff contests, representing the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Brazilian has also competed in the EuroLeague and represented his country in major international tournaments, including two Olympic Games and multiple FIBA competitions.
Neto explained that joining Brisbane will allow him to continue playing competitive basketball while preparing for Brazil’s upcoming international games.
“I was looking for somewhere I could compete at a high level while preparing for the national team,” Neto said.

I’m excited for the opportunity to experience the league, compete against some great players and be part of the Bullets program.
“I believe in what Will Weaver and the Bullets are building, and I’m looking forward to being part of the program and competing with this group.”
The move gives Neto an opportunity to experience Australia’s National Basketball League for the first time while providing Brisbane with an experienced option at point guard.
His arrival comes as the Bullets look to cover the absence of Velicka, with Neto expected to contribute during his time with the team.
Brisbane head coach and president of basketball operations Will Weaver welcomed the signing, pointing to Neto’s experience in several major basketball competitions.
“Raul brings a wealth of experience from the NBA, Europe and international basketball,” Weaver said.
“His excitement to join us reflects the reputation our club is building & we’re excited for how he can help us compete during his time in Brisbane.”
Neto’s background includes playing against established NBA guards and competing in international tournaments with Brazil, giving Brisbane another player familiar with high-level competition.
