France and Canada to square off in Manila

France will face off against Canada in Sunday’s FIBA Olympic Qualifying finale to determine who grabs the Rio 2016 birth via the Manila qualifiers.

France sunk Turkey 75-63 behind a 17-point effort from point guard Thomas Heurtel.

Omer Asik replied with a game-high 19 points but it was not enough as Turkey’s Olympic campaign comes to an end.

The French will face Canada in Sunday’s final after they edged a stubborn New Zealand 78-72.

Cory Joseph led all scorers for the victors with 23 points to end the Tall Blacks brave campaign.
