The Memphis Grizzlies have added wing Nate Hinton to their roster, the team announced. To make room for the move, the Grizzlies have waived guard Charlie Brown Jr.
Hinton, listed at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, has appeared in 38 NBA games across three seasons, serving primarily in a reserve role for the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, and Houston Rockets.
In those limited minutes, he has averaged 1.9 points in 4.5 minutes per game. He entered the league after going undrafted in 2020 out of Houston.
The 26-year-old, originally from North Carolina, has built an extensive résumé in the NBA G League.
Over five seasons and 190 games (141 starts), he has played for multiple affiliates, including the Santa Cruz Warriors, Long Island Nets, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Cleveland Charge, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and Memphis Hustle.
During that time, he has averaged 13.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.9 steals in 31.6 minutes per contest.
Charlie Brown Jr., standing at 6-foot-6 and 199 pounds, had only recently signed with Memphis on Oct. 13.
The 28-year-old has 49 NBA appearances (including three starts) spanning four seasons, in addition to 172 showcase and regular season games over six years in the NBA G League.
Brown, a Philadelphia native, also entered the league undrafted, coming out of Saint Joseph’s in 2019.
