Barcelona wins Adidas Next Generation title, beats Crvena Zvezda

Barcelona overcame a slow second period to win the 2016 Adidas Next Generation Tournament by outlasting Crvena Zvezda Belgrade 90-82 in Berlin.

Leading 33-17 after the first quarter, things were going well for the Catalan side thanks to sublime team play, offensively, that led to open shooters and great execution.

Defensively, Barca were relentless, going with a zone defence that the Serbian side struggled to cope with due to their opponents length and patience to not commit fouls.

But Crvena Zvezda fought back in the second quarter to narrow the gap to just a point thanks to a triple from Matija Radovic but in the end had to settle for a 50-46 deficit at the half.

Barcelona were rattled and needed the break to regroup and slowly as the game wore on, they extended their lead and a two-pointer from Sergi Martinez with 3:09 left gave them an 89-75 lead, which proved to be the dagger.

Eric Vila Martinez led Barcelona with 19 points. Aleksa Radonov led all scorers with 24 points for Crvena Zvezda.
